The Governing Board voted at the spring meeting 2008 to increase membership rates. The last membership rate increase was prior to 1993, more than fifteen years ago.

The American Avalanche Association is committed to work for and represent it’s membership. We strive to continually improve the quality of The Avalanche Review, provide more professional development opportunities, represent avalanche professionals on national issues and enhance opportunities to share and communicate the most current avalanche information and research.

Membership dues will increase $10 for both Professional and Member Affiliates beginning November 1, 2008. Member dues include a subscription to TAR. Any current member wishing to pay multiple years in advance at the old rate before November 1^st, can do so. Lifetime Membership rates will increase from $800 to $1,000.

The new TAR rates for subscriptions by non-members will increase to $30. The current international postage rates will remain at 2007 rates.
