Resources for A3 Course Providers

Whether you’re already part of the A3 provider network or interested in joining, this page outlines everything you need to know. From application requirements to annual compliance, A3 course providers deliver trusted avalanche education based on nationally recognized standards. This section includes resources for both new applicants and current providers.

What Makes an A3-Recognized Provider?

A3-recognized course providers meet rigorous standards for curriculum quality, instructor qualifications, and educational consistency. These providers have completed our Course Provider Evaluation and agree to maintain A3’s national guidelines for avalanche education.

We don’t teach courses—we recognize the instructors and programs that do. This partnership ensures consistent, high-quality education across the country.

How We Maintain Quality

  • Rigorous Application Process: Providers must demonstrate that their curriculum adheres to A3 guidelines and submit detailed course syllabi for review.

  • Operational Risk Management Review: Providers are reviewed upon application to ensure they operate according to industry best practices.

  • Qualified Instructors: Instructors must meet A3’s professional standards and maintain current certifications through continuing education.

  • Ongoing Standards: Providers commit to maintaining current A3 guidelines, using qualified instructors, and delivering consistent, high-quality education.

  • Regular Review: A3 monitors provider quality and reserves the right to remove recognition from programs that fail to meet standards.
